Visiting/volunteering: All visitors and volunteers must check in at the front office. To register as a volunteer, click here.

Absences: Students will be considered absent from class if they miss more than 15 minutes of the class period. All absences must be verified by a parent with either a written note, email, or a telephone call to the office or attendance office. Written notice must be given to the office within two school days if the absence is to be excused. Five consecutive days or longer of illness requires a doctor’s note to be excused. If a note is not received within two (2) school days of a student’s return, the student’s absence will be considered unexcused.

Checking out of school early: Parents are required to notify the office when taking a student out of school. No student will be released from school except to a parent, guardian, or designee, as indicated on the Student Information Form. When taking a child out of school, you or your designee is required to come to the office. You will be expected to sign the child out and specify the reason for early dismissal. Be prepared to show proper identification. If a student is picked up early or absent for going out of town – those are considered unexcused absences.

Tutorials/late bus: Teachers will offer tutorials before and after school throughout the year. If your child stays, they may take the late bus home at 4:30 p.m.  The bus will stop at your home elementary school campus.  This bus only runs Monday through Thursday. Click here for a link to the tutorial times.

Retest policy: Students will have another opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and mastery of the content tested if they score below a 70. ALL students will have Retest availability including Pre-AP and GT students. The retest will cover the same content of the original test. The student may be required to attend a tutorial prior to retesting. Only ONE retest opportunity will be allowed for each failed test. If a student scores lower on the retest, the original test grade will stand. Grade received for retest will be no higher than 70. All semester final exams are ineligible for retest.

Dress Code: Dress Code “Fast Facts” 2015-2016.

Lockers: Students will be assigned a locker at the beginning of the school year for the purpose of storing their books, school materials and supplies. The lockers; however, remain the property of SBISD and are subject to inspection. Students who have locker items in violation of District policy will be subject to disciplinary action.

As a precaution against loss of materials from lockers, students are urged to keep lockers locked at all times, not to give the combination to other students, and not to place books and materials in another’s locker. The school cannot be responsible for property placed in the lockers.

Lost and found: The school matins a lost and found service for all students who misplace their belongings. All items not claimed within two weeks after school is out will be given to a charitable organization.
